My son Vikrant: the epitome of my diversity experience; my teacher, my pupil, my son, friend and guide, I thank you for embarking with me on the journey of discovering the diversity of our lives as we traveled, changed homes, adopted another country and embraced all the diverse experiences that came our way; positive and negative, to make us the strong people we are today. Of all the diverse personal experiences that life sent my way, being a mother to you is the most precious and satisfying. It is an honor to be your mother.

My mother Sudarshna, father Chaman, sister Ajanta, nephew Arjun and his wife, Supriya: for all I have learnt from you; the laughter, the beauty of life, the challenges and struggles, surviving, thriving and moving on.

My friends, colleagues, my students and community co-workers: for pushing the envelope and urging me to question my own misconceptions; lending to a greater understanding and appreciation of the infinite ways of seeing diversity.

My relationships: for making me accept that loving someone would not mean they love you back in the same way; accepting the diversity in love has been valuable.

To God: for reminding me continuously that life is a gift for us to honor and cherish.

On action alone be thy interest,
Never on its fruits.
Let not the fruits of action be thy motive,
Nor be thy attachment to inaction.

Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me,
And the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
New Testament, John 6:37

I thank my dear friend and colleague, Dr. Gwendolyn S. Bethea, for her precious friendship and countless editing and proofing of the numerous pages of this website. Gwen is ever gracious in her willingness to look through my work at all odd hours of the day to ensure that the work is completed by our personal deadlines! I also thank my dear friend, Dr. Rebecca Reviere, for her unfailing friendship and advice on this website and so many other things! Finally, a special thanks to Ms. Miriam Ahmed, for her creativity and imagination in creating a beautiful website that completely captures my vision for diversity.
